Parkview Special School has enhanced its sensory provision through the installation of a bespoke Senso Cube from Creative Activity - a modular sensory environment designed to support a wide range of student needs. Background & Vision

Over recent years, Parkview Special School has experienced significant growth, both in pupil numbers and in the complexity of student needs. In particular, there has been a noticeable increase in pupils presenting with sensory-seeking behaviours and diverse sensory processing profiles.

While the school already had a dedicated sensory room, increased demand meant it was no longer sufficient to support all pupils effectively. Staff recognised the need for an additional, flexible sensory space that could be easily accessed throughout the school day.

The Challenge

The key challenges facing the school included:

The installation of the Senso Cube provided an ideal solution. Positioned within a corridor, the modular unit created a fully enclosed, accessible sensory environment without the need for a dedicated room.

The Senso Cube was tailored to meet a wide range of sensory needs and included:

• Causeway Wizard tablet and projector for immersive, interactive experiences
• Bubble tube for calming visual stimulation
• Interactive wall panels, including an infinity mirror and Rhapsody panel
• Tactile panel for hands-on sensory engagement
• Padded interior for safety and comfort

The exterior was customised with the school’s crest and name, helping the cube feel like an integrated and valued part of the school environment.
